The decision to include household items in the population census has sparked reactions from many citizens, especially social media users, ranging from mockery to skepticism about these measures.

Social media users wondered, "Is it a furniture inventory or a population census?", noting that "this is a game to find out how people live in luxury."

One blogger commented sarcastically, "The enumeration will include the qayish and the water pump (meaning parts of the air cooler)."

Another said, "Any information about the number of people is not disclosed to the census teams."

Another explained that "this procedure strips the Iraqi individual of his property and the poverty line," asking, "Why is the accountability of thieves being ignored and the law 'Where did you get this from?' not being activated?"

"What is the point of inventorying these items? Does it determine the actual population?" asked a new blogger, predicting "there is a bigger issue."

One of the citizens said, “The population census is not only about knowing the number of people, but also about knowing the standard of living of each individual, the level of poverty, and the level of prosperity that society as a whole lives in.”
