[rtl]Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, recently hit a major milestone in its history. Twelve years ago, crypto enthusiasts got their last chance to buy Bitcoin for less than $10.[/rtl]
[rtl]Bitcoin historian Pete Rizzo recently shared this fact on the X platform, sparking a wave of nostalgia and amazement within the crypto community. “Fun fact: 12 years ago today, you had your last chance to buy Bitcoin for under $10,” Rizzo tweeted.[/rtl]
[rtl]Fast forward to today, and early adopters who took advantage of Bitcoin have seen their investments grow exponentially. In the past 12 years, Bitcoin has skyrocketed in value, turning those early investments into life-changing fortunes.[/rtl]
[rtl]Bitcoin has since risen from less than $10, hitting an all-time high of nearly $74,000 in mid-March and cementing its status as “digital gold.”[/rtl]
[rtl]For example, 100 bitcoins purchased in 2012 would be worth millions today, even with recent bitcoin market volatility. 400 bitcoins were worth around $2,000 in 2012, but are now worth over $27 million.[/rtl]
[rtl]Early Bitcoin holders hit the jackpot on October 25, with blockchain data tracker WallEarth reporting a dormant Bitcoin whale had awakened after more than 12 years: “A dormant address holding 400 Bitcoins worth $27.284 million has been activated after 12.4 years when it was worth $2,149 in 2012.[/rtl]
[rtl]What was even more noticeable was the huge surge in cryptocurrency holdings, which were worth $2,149 at the time and are now worth over $27.284 million.[/rtl]
[rtl]In recent trading, Bitcoin was up 0.11% over the past 24 hours to $67,124. Cryptocurrency prices reversed early gains and fell broadly in Sunday’s trading session after Friday’s slide on reports that the United States is investigating the issuer of stablecoin Tether for violations of sanctions and anti-money laundering regulations.[/rtl]
[rtl]Meanwhile, the outlook for Bitcoin price this week remains bullish as Bitcoin’s 50-day SMA is converging and looks set to move above the 200-day SMA, forming a potential golden cross.[/rtl]
[rtl]Bitcoin's value has doubled to an all-time high of nearly $74,000 after a golden performance on October 30, 2023.[/rtl]
