    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
The Iraqi government condemned, on Tuesday (October 29, 2024), the measures taken by the Zionist entity to ban the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and what this action represents as a dangerous development affecting the humanitarian situation and obstructing efforts to deliver aid to the occupied Palestinian territories.
Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi said in a statement received by Baghdad Today, " UNRWA, which has been working in the humanitarian field in Palestine for more than 75 years, is responsible for supporting and providing relief to an entire refugee population, and that banning its work by the occupying entity threatens the safety and lives of millions of civilians, including children, women and the elderly."
He added, "The occupying entity has carried out all kinds of attacks against UNRWA, and directly targeted its workers, in behavior that shows the extent of its disregard for all international values and covenants, and its plan to complete the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing, which it is practicing in all horrific forms in the occupied territories."
Al-Awdai pointed out that "the Iraqi government calls on the international community to stand up for its humanity, and for each country to bear its responsibility under international humanitarian law, and to take serious steps towards stopping these serious humanitarian violations."
