Islamic cooperation is ready to activate Mecca's Document.

BAGHDAD
/ NINA / The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic
Cooperation, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has renewed his organization's
readiness to send a high-level delegation to Baghdad to contact with all
Iraqi parties and contribute in the convergence of views and discuss
the preparations to activate Mecca's document 2006.
He
directed, in a press statement, an urgent appeal to the political
leaders and clerics in Iraq to put the interests of Iraq above all else
and make every effort to maintain the unity of Iraq and its security and
stability and respond wisely to the demands of the demonstrators, to
preserve the social peace and stability of Iraq.
He expressed his
serious concern about the continuing crisis in Iraq, calling on "all
Iraqi parties to embark in a comprehensive and serious dialogue leads to
build genuine national reconciliation among the people away from
sectarianism and marginalization of the other and work to improve the
situations of the Iraqi citizen."
It is mentioned that some
provinces are witnessing demonstrations and sit-ins since two weeks ago,
demanding to cancel the Justice and Accountability Law and approve the
amnesty law and the release of innocent detainees. / End
