Aggregating what I've been hearing over the last couple of days, and one big update this morning:

I'm told the Hawks are talking primarily to four teams: Arizona, Detroit, Colorado (all of which have been reported here previously) and . . . Tampa Bay.

The names under discussion with Arizona include Martin Hanzal, Michael Stone, and Anthony Duclair (althgouh Arizona will expect a king's ransom for him—and it is therefore very unlikely). Separately, I've heard Luke Schenn and kevin Connauton mentioned as being more likely targets for Chicago than Stone.

With Detroit, the names being discussed are rumored to be: Tomas Vanek, Tomas Tatar, and Brendan Smith.

With Colorado: Matt Duchene, Jarome Iginla, and Fedor Tyutin.

Finally, Tampa Bay—not a regular dance partner for the Hawks, but with the playoffs possibly out of reach for the Bolts within a few weeks, apparently Steve Yzerman is talking (at least). And a source tells me it is with Chicago, surrounding Ondrej Palat and a message board favorite) . . . Bryan Boyle.

Three players the Hawks have inquired about but are not available at present: James van Riemsdyk, Marcus Foligno, and Brock Nelson.

I'm told the two names with the most activity right now regarding the Hawks are Boyle and Palat. And for different reasons.

Boyle's physical profile, expiring contract, and versatility greatly appeal to the Hawks.

Palat is seen as a longer term acquisition (RFA this summer) who can immediately fill the hole at top 6 LW and be part of the picture in Chicago beyond this year.

I would expect the price for either and especially Palat would be fairly significant, likely involving a top prospect and a roster player at minimum.

    More as I hear it.
