The Blues will be wrap up their road trip tonight in Denver, facing the Avalanche. Any point earned by the Blues or missed by the Kings tonight will punch the Blues’ ticket in the playoffs. With a win tonight, the Blues will finish March with an incredible 12-2-1 record. That Translates into a 83.3% points percentage. Contrast that to the Avlanche who would be 3-13 in March with a loss. The Avalanche are 1-9 in their last 10 games.

The lineup looks to the same as Wednesday with the exception of Jake Allen back in the net. The lineup should look like this:
    Schwartz – Steen – Tarasenko
    Sanford – Berglund - Perron
    Paajarvi – Barbashev – Yakupov
    Upshall – Brodziak – Reaves
    Bouwmeester – Pietrangelo
    Edmundson - Parayko
    Bortuzzo – Schmaltz
    Allen

Given the Avalanche relationship with Kroenke I wonder if Blues fans might really enjoy seeing the Blues celebrate a playoff clinch on his team’s ice.

Around the league last night and today there were a few significant developments. The first pertains to a court ruling opening up exhibits in the NHL’s concussion lawsuit. It’s worth a few minutes to read it here.

Curtis McKenzie seemed to suffer a very significant eye injury after taking a stick under his visor from Kevan Miller. Miller clearly didn’t do it on purpose but he suffered, a nasty deep gash near his eye. Only minutes ago the Stars finally reported that there is no apparent eye damage. He was literally spraying blood onto the ice as he was trying to get off. I hope McKenzie makes a full recovery.

It’s a great day for hockey.

Fellow Hockeybuzz bloggers Nashville Predator's Paul McCann, Winnipeg Jet's Peter Tessier and Minnesota Wild's Dan Wallace have generously agreed to a friendly charity wager. We were hoping to do the whole division but don't have it fully represented yet. The blogger whose team finishes the highest the standings at the end of the year gets to pick a charity to whom the others donate in their name.
