There's no doubt the San Jose Sharks faithful are breathing a collective sigh of relief following some very encouraging news regarding centers Logan Couture and Joe Thornton.

There is no specific time table for either to return to game action but both Couture and Jumbo Joe have been working out at the Sharks practice facility this week. Thornton had an MRI on Monday. The speculation is that Thornton suffered an MCL sprain against the Vancouver Canucks this past weekend. Meanwhile Couture is still recovering from a puck to the mouth last month that cost him several of the chicklets.

Thornton made us all feel much better when he assured everybody that he will be ready to go soon and won't miss the start of the playoffs.

Thornton had played in 201 consecutive games before the injury forced him to sit one out. No doubt the Sharks are feeling much better about themselves having won consecutive game for the first time in weeks. And with the news that Thornton's injury is not as serious as anticipated things are starting to look up for the battle weary Sharks.

Okay...now for some real talk. Let's be honest for a second here. Thornton is 37-years-old and not the fleetest of foot as it is. He may be ready for the playoffs but how well is the knee going to hold up under the rigors of an intense playoff game? Without a healthy Couture or Thornton the Sharks are in serious trouble.

I'm wishing for the best, but I know deep down inside the Sharks are sailing into troubled waters.
