Due to their opening round sweep of Calgary, the Ducks have time to get some much needed rest and heal some nagging injuries before the conference semi-finals. Here are some things floating around the Ducks universe.

    Looking Ahead

Edmonton leads San Jose 3-2 going into tonight's game six. For the Ducks, it doesn't matter which one they play. Both teams present different, but formidable challenges. A San Jose series would be easier travel, but would be more physical. Edmonton is a fast team with a plethora of young talent. Whether its San Jose or Edmonton vs the Ducks, the WCSF will be very entertaining.

When the playoffs started, I had Chicago winning the Western Conference and heading for the cup finals. Since the Hawks got swept, St. Louis presents the next biggest hurdle, should the Ducks advance. Like Anaheim, the Blues finished the regular season on fire. A five or six game KO of Minnesota would boost their confidence.

    Ducklings

Last night the San Diego Gulls dropped a 3-2 heart-breaker to Ontario. Down 2-0 halfway through the game, San Diego rallied behind goals from Sam Carrick and Nic Kerdiles to tie the game heading into the second intermission. Unfortunately, the Gulls were done in by a goal with 12 seconds left in regulation. Game two is tonight in Ontario

The Utah Grizzlies also went down to defeat last night. After leading 1-0 through two periods, Utah was overwhelmed by the Allen Americans in th third period, yielding five goals. The Grizzlies trail 3-1 in the series with game five tonight in Utah.

    Bonus
