The governor of Basra resigned Majid Nasrawi, last Saturday, in a letter to the people of Basra, for receiving threats of liquidation two days after announcing his resignation. On the 12th of this month, the Integrity Commission issued a clarification on the circumstances of the escape of Basra Governor Majid al-Nasrawi from Iraq on charges of corruption.
She confirmed that Nasraoui left the country before he was notified of the decision of the ban issued, and called on the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to approach the Iranian side for the purpose of beating the governor resigned.
"The investigation is under way for the case of the governor of Basra, Majid al-Nasrawi, who is involved in charging commissions from contractors, but the evidence obtained in the case is insufficient and incomplete to bring in or issue an order," Judge Abdul Sattar Birqdar, spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council, said in a statement received by al-Mada. He has been arrested or prevented from traveling; therefore, no such decision has been made by the judiciary. "
A spokesman for the Judicial Council that "the judiciary issued an arrest warrant and travel ban against the son of the governor of Basra, called Mohammed Baqir Majid al-Nasrawi for the crime of charging commissions from contractors," pointing out that "the courts will consider these cases in accordance with the law, and warned the Supreme Judicial Council to be punished according to The law is the one who mediates for the cause of any of the accused. " On the charges against the head of the Basra provincial council Sabah al-Bezouni, the Judicial Council confirmed that "Al-Bezouni is wanted for three cases," explaining that "the first case now suspended is related to charges of bribery of a Lebanese merchant, the investigation has been completed and is currently before the criminal court for the purpose of prosecution about her".
The judge of the investigation of the issues of integrity in the province of Basra, on the sixth of July last, a decision to arrest the head of the Basra Council Sabah al-Bezouni, according to article 310 of the Penal Code, on the charge of receiving bribes from a "Lebanese trader,"
