    Mustafa Falih:
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan expected to resolve the issue of forming the local government in Kirkuk within ten days. While he indicated that reaching solutions requires concessions from everyone, he confirmed the existence of proposals that are acceptable to most parties in the province.
A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Kirkuk, Soran Dawi, said in an interview: “It is hoped that there will be a meeting for all parties, and there are some proposals accepted by most parties, not all, but they have not reached the level of agreement, and there are several projects, including the project of the Turkmen side, the Arab side, and the Kurdish side.” “.
He pointed out that “the Kurds and Arabs are perhaps the closest in their attitudes to each other, and it is hoped that during this week or ten days there will be a meeting of the Kirkuk Provincial Council to resolve this issue.”
He stressed, “We in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan have been and are still emphasizing the necessity of meeting and the necessity of resolving this issue in the service of the people of the governorate, with the participation of all parties in Kirkuk, not marginalizing any party, and taking into account the issue of electoral entitlement. We are with discussing all proposals, and we are with the proposal that guarantees everyone’s rights, and we see that Guaranteeing rights in the first place is that we do not violate the constitution and laws, and logic says that the one who has the most seats will obtain the largest position, and so on for all other parties.”
He pointed out, “We are in dialogue in order to reach a solution in Kirkuk. Perhaps we will reach a solution and there will be a solution. I do not say that it meets our ambition one hundred percent, but we say that reaching solutions requires some concessions, not only from us as a national union, but from all parties, and so far we have not reached a concrete agreement.” The proposals need agreements, and the issue is not only the position of the governor, but there is the position of the deputy governor and the head of the council, and so on all the sovereign positions in the governorate.”
He pointed out that “Mr. Sudanese’s supervision of this issue was positive for us as Kurds, and we saw that it blocked the way to foreign interference. For the Arabs as well, remember the positive issue that it was clear that the solution to the Kirkuk issue was in Baghdad and not elsewhere, and there was concern and fear that the solutions would go to other places.” And also for all parties, “expecting the Kirkuk crisis to be resolved within ten days.”[/size]
