The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, revealed the number of people who have obtained Iraqi citizenship.
Merry said that there were 54 cases of naturalization during the past three years, according to Article 6 of the Iraqi Nationality Law, which specifies continuous legal residency for ten years without interruption.
He added that the cases of granting Iraqi citizenship to foreign wives and husbands amounted to only 576 cases, and the cases of multiple births according to Article 5 of the Nationality Law amounted to only 14 cases, and no other cases were recorded and what was published on social media sites is incorrect.
