British newspaper: Emirati-Israeli normalization is taking place quickly
A British newspaper revealed new forms of Israeli-Arab cooperation in the framework of the normalization of relations between the two parties, describing it that is being accelerated in recent times.
The Middle East Monitor published a report titled "Israel and the UAE Forming Relationships" based on documents from the WikiLeaks website that show "rapid economic, diplomatic, security and military coordination between the UAE and Israel."
The documents refer to the "great role" played by the UAE ambassador in Washington, Yusuf al-Otaiba, in advancing the normalization between his country and Israel in an unprecedented direction, and "through secret and public channels."
Pointing out that Abu Dhabi has not only turned into a hotbed of Israel's security and economic interests, but has become a locomotive that is trying to attract the Arab world to the Israeli perspective of the region and its issues, at the forefront of which is the Palestinian cause.
According to the documents, the UAE in 2010 received the Israeli judo team in conjunction with the assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai in cooperation with the Mossad, "where it is no longer surprising then to prevent the lifting of the Palestinian flag in the UAE."
The documents also reveal that the UAE has become an important center for the occupation in the fields of security and intelligence. Abu Dhabi has contracted with the Israeli security company AGT to secure oil and gas facilities and set up a civilian monitoring network in Abu Dhabi. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this month praised what he called "the development of Israeli relations with Sunni Arab states," and said that "it has not been seen since the establishment of Israel."
"We drink the toast and prepare for the feast to celebrate our success," Netanyahu said from the Israeli Foreign Ministry, referring to Israel's entry into "new squares to the bloc of Arab states." The cooperation that is taking place with it has never happened in our history, The countries with which we have established peace relations. "
