 Wasit / Jabbar in Jay

Wassit Governorate has announced the start of the implementation of a large campaign aimed at maintenance, cladding and rehabilitation of the external roads linking it with the neighboring governorates to the many bumps and ripples which cause many traffic accidents. She confirmed that she set the speed on these roads at 120 km / h for small vehicles, while activating the work of the weight stations to prevent the passage of trucks with high loads and accounting for drivers offenders.
"Due to the lack of funds and allocations necessary for the maintenance and rehabilitation of external roads, most of these roads have suffered from a large number of bumps, dredges and ripples, which in turn affected the traffic of vehicles," said Wasit governor Mahmoud Abdul Redha Talal in an interview with Al-Mada. And the killing of innocents. "
Talal added that "the Department of the new province has developed a plan of action to avoid the recurrence of these incidents by relying on a number of axes, namely the rehabilitation of these roads and speed control and loads, as well as the installation of radars to monitor the speed of vehicles and all these procedures were implemented as of last Saturday, September."
Talal said that "a large work campaign has been started to rehabilitate and maintain the road of Kut - Maysan for the passers-by and the start of this campaign from the administrative border in the region of Ali Gharbi between the provinces of Maysan and Wasit where the efforts of technical and engineering and automated effort of the departments of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, During the operation of the new asphalt plant to return to the municipality of Kut 200 tons of asphalt per hour and work is now underway to address the drilling and bumps and ripples on this road, which has been exhausted all the parts affected and in accordance with the most accurate technical specifications and the adoption of quality standards.
He pointed out that this campaign will continue in the same way to the borders of Wasit province and Baghdad as well as with the province of Babylon and the southern direction with the province of Dhi Qar to rehabilitate all the affected parts and return them to better than it was.
"The second part of this campaign included two main and very important aspects: speeding on the external roads to be 120 km / h for small vehicles, and that there is a technical mechanism was adopted to monitor the violators through the installation of speed control cameras by the Directorate of Traffic with the placement of traffic detachments At the entrances and exits of the province and in some important areas of the extensions of external roads, and the task of these detachments to monitor the speed of drivers, especially owners of modern saloons such as (Obama and Jarger), which operates between Baghdad and the southern provinces and owners of this type of cars are the fastest and most cause Accident. "
Talal said that "there are strict punitive measures in accordance with the law will be taken against the wrong drivers to prevent recurrence of violations and that this situation will have significant implications for reducing traffic accidents and prevent the occurrence of high speed and sometimes the driver to increase speed at a time when the road has a lot of holes and bumps And ripples that may lead to accidents. "
He pointed out that "the identification of loads for large trucks has also been activated work in the stations of weight and physical presence in the entrances of the province after securing the requirements of those stations, which will in turn check the weight of all cargoes that take the external roads of the province, whether coming from the southern ports or from the border port in Zurbatia or from Baghdad and vice versa, and that these stations will work to check the weight of electronic loads and not allow the passage of trucks with high loads and take legal action against drivers. "For his part, Director of Roads and Bridges Wasit Engineer Saadoun al-Manihlawi that" these measures will be able to protect Roads and the preservation of the damage, especially with regard to the issue of overloads, which was one of the main reasons that contributed to the damage to large ways of external conservation.
In an interview with Al-Mada, Al-Manihlawi said that "a technical committee of specialists conducted a comprehensive survey of the network of external roads in the province to identify the damaged sections and estimate the size and type of damage in order to put the correct treatments and work is currently underway to rehabilitate, rehabilitate and maintain the road of Kot Maysan, The rest of the affected areas in all directions. "
Al-Manihlawi pointed to "constructive cooperation between the roads and municipal departments and the passage of the implementation of this campaign and its success, which came under the direct guidance and follow-up field by the Governor Mahmoud Mullah Talal, who directed speed limits on external roads and also check truckloads and this is very important, because high loads are the main reason. Damaged roads. "
"When the roads are completed, they will go to the affected rural roads and make treatments for them to be completely vehicular," he said.
"The issue of speed and its determination on the external roads is a must and we will not be complacent with all violators because most of the traffic accidents recorded by us are caused by high speed, recklessness of drivers and lack of adherence to traffic rules, especially on external roads," said Wadit Traffic Director Colonel Menem Howeidi.
"After activating the work of surveillance cameras and radars, there is no room for any other driver to be held accountable for speeding through the implementation of traffic laws that aim to protect lives by preventing traffic accidents," he said in an interview with Al-Mada.
"The roadblocks that have been deployed on the external roads will have high coordination among them to monitor the violators after the violations have been recorded and there will be no complacency with any driver who violates the rules of traffic and speed for the safety of all," he said.
