[rtl]North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said Saturday that his country was close to completing its nuclear power despite international sanctions.[/rtl]
[rtl]Kim said the test conducted by his country Friday morning, during which he launched a medium-range Hwassong-12 ballistic missile across Japan before falling into the sea, was a successful test and boosted Pyongyang's "nuclear military capabilities."[/rtl]
[rtl]Kim stressed that the ultimate goal of acquiring atomic weapons is to "achieve a real balance of power" with the United States.[/rtl]
[rtl]The North Korean leader's statement came hours after the UN Security Council strongly condemned Pyongyang's firing of the ballistic missile and considered it a "very provocative" resolution of its 15 members.[/rtl]
