Thwarting the smuggling of 21 million liters of petroleum derivatives

The Ministry of Interior was able to thwart the smuggling of 21 million liters of petroleum derivatives during the first half of this year.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, explained to Al-Sabah that the file of smuggling oil derivatives is the most important file that the security leadership of the ministry has worked on, especially the energy police.
He added that the ministry has taken a series of measures that have contributed to reducing smuggling operations by 98%, indicating that the number of vehicles seized in smuggling operations during the past six months was 404, with 532 dens uncovered.
Miri pointed out that the percentage of breaches in oil derivative pipelines has reached zero, noting that the ministry has made great strides in eliminating corruption by taking important measures in this regard.
