Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Minister of Trade Athir Dawood Al-Ghariri called on the Turkish side to establish commercial centers for Turkish commercial agencies inside Iraq.
This came during his meeting with the new Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Anan, to discuss prospects for economic, commercial and investment cooperation and to expand and balance the volume of trade exchange between the two neighboring countries in a way that serves their common interests, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Trade.
The statement said that the Minister stressed the depth of historical, geographical and cultural relations with neighboring Turkey, which enjoys great interest from the governments and leaderships of the two countries. He pointed out the importance of taking advantage of all available opportunities to establish joint production and investment projects, and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
Al-Ghariri stressed that Iraq is strong in its human, natural, cultural and historical resources, and that it is taking practical steps towards economic reform at the level of legislation and laws.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador stressed his government's keenness to develop and advance economic, investment and trade relations with Iraq, implement the agreements signed between them, and support Iraq in its path to joining the World Trade Organization.
The ambassador also expressed his country's desire to increase the volume of Iraqi exports and products to Turkey in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries.
