Al-Abbasi: Framing the relationship with Washington according to the Iraqi constitution

Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi said yesterday, Wednesday: The government will frame its relationship with the United States of America in accordance with the law and the constitution.
Al-Abbasi added that "Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, is keen to create sustainability between the Iraqi and American ministries of defense."
For his part, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said: "The current dialogue between Iraq and the United States is based on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani's visit to Washington," indicating that "the United States appreciates the sacrifices made by the Iraqi security forces."
