ANKARA - The country's parliament will hold an emergency session on Saturday to discuss extending the army's mandate to carry out operations outside Iraq, Syria's Anatolia news agency reported.
Earlier on Thursday, the foreign ministers of Iraq, Turkey and Iran confirmed the unconstitutionality of the Kurdistan referendum scheduled for next Monday, warning of the outbreak of conflicts in the region is difficult to contain.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday called on Kurdistan region President Massoud Barzani to withdraw from the referendum scheduled for September 25, threatening to impose "sanctions" against the backdrop of the referendum.
