    Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced on Saturday, that it has signed a contract with “Siemens " German company worth 118 million Euros for the rehabilitation of Baiji electrical station, while renewed emphasis on the completion of the energy shortage crisis at the end of the current year

    .
    “The ministry has signed a contract with the German company Siemens for the rehabilitation and maintenance of Baiji gas station worth 118 million Euros,” the ministry’s spokesman , Musab al-Mudares said in a statement received by “ Shafaq News”.

    “The contract included maintenance and processing equipment for four gas units in Baiji gas station for a period of four years, subjected to extension as well as training engineering and technical staffs

    Mudares said that “the country's national electricity system has achieved steadily progress and an increase in production capacity exceeded 11 thousand MW “.

    Iraq has suffered a shortage of electricity since the beginning of 1990, and increased electricity rationing hours after 2003 in Baghdad and the provinces, because of the old stations and sabotaging it.
