[ltr]Canada has sent a team of Canadian army engineers with high explosives skills to train Iraqi security forces, the statement said in a statement that the US-led coalition forces are running a separate program to train Iraqi forces to dismantle improvised explosive devices.[/ltr]
[ltr]This comes after the Canadian Ministry of National Defense announced Ottawa, whose current mandate expires on June 30.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Canadian Defense Ministry said Canadian armed forces were currently providing advice to help Iraqis near Hawija, the last stronghold of the Da'ash terrorist gang, as part of the government's strategy to respond to crises in Iraq and Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]It also confirmed that the Canadian armed forces continue to contribute to the elements of the internal security forces in Iraq to participate in the clearance of other Iraqi centers of control of Dahesh, after the liberation of the city of Mosul.[/ltr]
[ltr]She said the Canadian government was dedicated to working with coalition forces and partners to deter and defeat the evangelist, noting that this reflected Canada's contributions to the Global Alliance against Canada's continued commitment to address the threat posed by terrorist organizations such as urging and responding to the needs of those affected by the conflict in Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.
