The Egyptian delegate to the UN Human Rights Committee surprised the audience with his position on a draft resolution on human rights in Syria.
Egypt's permanent secretary to the committee, Mohamed Moussa, said the decision was politicized and lacked balance.
The draft resolution calls for referring those involved in war crimes in Syria to the International Criminal Court and Saudi Arabia is one of the most prominent authors of this project. "
The Zionist entity supported the draft resolution, where the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth," described it as a new alliance "Israeli-Saudi against Syria," while Bashar al-Jaafari, the representative of Syria, accusing Qatar and Saudi Arabia of supporting "terrorism," saying that they disagree in everything, Syria".
"I would like to congratulate the Saudis on Israel's accession to the list, which reflects the alliance between the two countries," Jaafari said.
It is noteworthy that 108 countries approved the resolution, while opposed by 17 countries, and abstained 58 votes, including Egypt.
