    [ltr]LONDON (Reuters) - The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has asked the court to investigate allegations of war crimes in Afghanistan by the CIA and the US military, the Financial Times reported.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The Financial Times published an article by Katrina Manson entitled "The CIA and the US military face the possibility of being investigated for war crimes."[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has asked for approval to investigate with elements in the US armed forces and elements in the CIA for allegations of war crimes in Afghanistan."[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Prosecutor Fatu Bensouda has applied to the International Criminal Court to allow him to investigate allegations of crimes against humanity, war crimes committed by the Taliban and the Haqqani network, and also to investigate Afghan war crimes.[/ltr]
