On Thursday, the Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc called on the government to take a national stand against the unjust US decisions against the popular crowd and its symbols.
"The popular crowd has foiled all American schemes in support of terrorism," Hassan Salim, the head of the bloc, told al-Maaloumah.
He added that "silence on the decision of the US administration against the popular crowd reflects the dependency of this administration and violation of Iraqi sovereignty."
Salem pointed out that "the US administration under the auspices of Donald Trump wants to pass the Zionist project after the defeat of gangs and called for criminalization at the hands of Iraqis."
On 15-11-2017, the US Congress voted to classify some of the Islamic Resistance factions as "terrorist groups".
