[ltr]Mexico has intercepted more than 300 Central American immigrants on their way to the United States, authorities said Saturday, saying they were in appalling conditions without food or water.[/ltr]
[ltr]Immigration services said the largest group of 198 people were found stoned on board a truck in Tamaulipas (northeast) on the Texas border.[/ltr]
[ltr]Migrants from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador "traveled on overcrowded mechanisms without sufficient ventilation, food and water," the statement said.[/ltr]
[ltr]Among the children found, 55 were with relatives or relatives, while 24 traveled alone.[/ltr]
[ltr]A week ago, 174 people from Central America were also arrested during operations in the states of Coahuila and Tamaulipas.[/ltr]
