178 immigrants found in an abandoned truck in Mexico

    Date of release: 2017/7/

{International: Euphrates News} Local authorities in the state of Veracruz, eastern Mexico, found an abandoned truck with 178 migrants, originally from Central America.
The Mexican state police said in a statement that the smugglers had left these migrants wishing to reach the United States, inside the truck.
Migrants realized that the smugglers abandoned them. Some of them got out of the truck because they were starving. They went until they reached Tantima, where the residents gave them food and drink.
A Mexican military source said there was a palace among those immigrants.
Local authorities indicated that the migrants had been transferred to a reception center and had received health care before proceeding with their return procedures.
Ten illegal immigrants were killed in the United States last week in a truck due to severe heat after parking in San Antonio, Texas, two hours' drive from the border with Mexico.
Tens of thousands of people from Mexico and Central America try to enter the United States illegally every year.
