    On Monday, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals introduced a new mechanism to protect local products to meet the needs of the country. 
    The official spokesman of the ministry, Abdul Wahid al-Shammari, said in a statement quoted by the newspaper "morning" and the official read "Economy News", the ministry has developed an integrated mechanism to protect the local product, represented by a request in accordance with the provisions of the Iraqi Protection of Products Act No. 11 of 2010 amended and instructions. 
    He pointed out that "any party is prepared to provide any product covering the local need, it must submit an application to the Minister of Industry to discuss it and determine the type of practice if it carries damage from any aspect of the country, as well as holding meetings with the applicant on how to fill out the form with data, And formality within the time limits determined by the department. "
    Al-Shammari explained that "the applicant for the protection of any product based on the provisions of Article 4 of the Iraqi Products Protection Act must be supported by the protection application form. The competent authority shall ensure that it meets the technical and legal requirements. The committee shall submit its recommendations within 30 days. In the event of an initial damage that occurs on the local product submitted for protection. " 
    He added that "if the Minister of Industry approves the recommendation, the announcement of the commencement of the investigations will be published in two local newspapers within a period of 30 days, noting that in the case of a justified rejection of the request, the applicant is officially informed of the right to appeal before the competent courts. 15 days ". 
    "The specialized committee will be briefed on the technological course of production (the place of protection) and the company's stores and all the formal and technical formalities to request protection and within six months in cases of unjustified increase in imports, and one year in cases of support and dumping based on Article VII of the law "He said.
    He added that "the committee recommends the final decision to the Minister for the above request, and submit a comprehensive report showing the findings on harmful practices and damage," noting that "if the recommendation confirms the existence of harmful practices, the Minister issues his decision to impose final protection measures to address them The decision includes the type, size and extent of the measures and raises its decision within ten days from the date of its issuance to the Council of Ministers for decision, "adding that" if the Council of Ministers approved the recommendation of the competent authority for the final decision within 30 days, Economic effects Yeh on the affected product and the local market.
