Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri said on Sunday that Iraq is on an important stage after the elimination of terrorism, pointing out that this stage requires a sharpening of international and Arab efforts.
"The Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim Al-Jubouri met on Sunday with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari during his visit to the Embassy's headquarters in Baghdad," a statement from Al-Jubouri office said.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in security and politics in Iraq and the region and joint cooperation to combat terrorism.
Al-Jubouri called for "activating the economic and investment development factors between the two countries, opening up new horizons and opportunities, especially that Iraq is at an important stage after the eradication of terrorism, which requires an intensification of international and Arab efforts."
For his part, Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz al-Shammari said that "the kingdom looks forward to having a role in the file of reconstruction and investment in Iraq and contribute to its stability and in all political, economic and security fields." Ending / 25 g
