[ltr]The newspaper "Life" in London, on Sunday, the names of candidates for the presidency of the Republic, pointing out that among the candidates President Fuad Masum.[/ltr]
[ltr]The leadership council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan held a meeting in the province of Sulaymaniyah to discuss its future political alliances, its candidates for the presidency and deal with the parliamentary procedures regarding the elections.[/ltr]
[ltr]The newspaper quoted sources as saying that "the meeting put the name of the current president Fouad Masoum as one of the candidates for the presidency of the Republic, as well as the former Minister of Water Resources and the President of the current advisers in the presidency, Abdul Latif Rashid.[/ltr]
[ltr]The sources added that "this has not been resolved so far within the political bureau of the party, but there is concern within the Union to submit other candidates to the post in agreement with other Kurdish parties."[/ltr]
[ltr]The local media talked about reaching an agreement between the Patriotic Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party to provide the name of Hoshyar Zebari as a candidate for the post of President of the Republic.[/ltr]
