Israel rejects an offer of Russia on Iranian troops in Syria[/size]

An Israeli official said on Monday that his country rejected Russia's offer to keep Iranian troops in Syria 100 kilometers from the ceasefire line on the Golan Heights.
The official told Reuters that the issue was raised during a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a visiting Russian delegation led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"We will not allow the Iranians to consolidate their presence even 100 kilometers from the border," the official said.
