Shabandar: MacGork threatened political forces to repeat "call" to Iraq
Former Iraqi politician and parliamentarian Izzat Shabandar on Sunday revealed threats by US President George W. Bush's envoy to re-organize a "call" to Iraq if Abadi failed to secure a second term.
Shabandar said in a televised interview that "Washington insists on renewing the mandate of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and threatened the political forces that oppose the path of Abbadi to bring back to Iraq."
He added that "the division in the political arena is a healthy sign in the body of Iraqi politics because it is a step towards leaving the sectarian lines and trenching party."
"The commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, did not knock the doors of the politicians and did not threaten anyone, unlike McGowork, who threatened the political forces to repeat", "he said.
And on the coalition of victory, Shabandar said that "there are real divisions in the coalition after the split Faleh Fayyad, left with the Abadi coalition victory only 8 deputies, with the presence of the Virtue Party and ten independent deputies."
He added that "the subject of Obadi to obtain a second term is very difficult amid this political mobilization to choose another candidate," noting that "the political forces suggested to Abadi choose another candidate for prime minister."
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi politician Wael Abdul Latif revealed earlier the existence of a veto from the religious authority in Najaf not to renew the slaves and not to nominate personalities are being traded.
