The media office said in a statement received by "Al-Ghad Press" a copy of it, that "the money for the province of Basra has been allocated direct guidance by Haider Abadi and will spend away from red tape and bureaucracy in order to provide services to our people in the province of Basra."

He pointed out that "was given all financial and administrative powers to the governor of Basra, Asad al-Eidani by the Council of Ministers in its meeting last Tuesday."

He explained that "the Prime Minister directly follows the completion of projects and provide services to citizens in the province has been sending a high-level ministerial committee to follow up and overcome all obstacles."

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, addressed today, Prime Minister Haider Abadi, saying, "Do not think that the revolutionaries of Basra bubble as your predecessor thought and released their money."

On Thursday evening, Basra witnessed a serious escalation in the demonstrations that have been taking place in the province for about two months to demand services. Angry protesters set fire to a number of party headquarters and political currents as well as government institutions.
