    The deputy of Basra Jamal Jamalawi, on Thursday, that the application of the law of Basra, Iraq's economic capital will solve many of the problems facing Basra province and strengthen its role to take its industrial and commercial status, calling on international companies to invest in the energy sector, services and infrastructure in Basra.
    "Basra is a promising region to attract Arab and foreign investments to its strategic location, the link between the east and west of the world and the diversity of its abundant resources," he said in a statement read by the economy news. 
    "Investment in Basra will help develop infrastructure, absorb the requirements of developing trade and industry, expand ports and operate the productive and competitive sectors of local companies, thus raising labor levels in some economic sectors and addressing the phenomenon and the problem of unemployment by providing new jobs provided by investment projects," he added. 
    He pointed out that the implementation of the law of Basra, Iraq's economic capital will solve many of the problems facing the province of Basra and strengthen its role to take its industrial and commercial status and create a stable environment for investment and push the wheel of economic activity to an advanced stage correspond to Iraq's economic status.

    BAGHDAD / The MP for Basra Jamal al-Muhammadawi called on Thursday for international companies to invest in the energy, services and infrastructure sector in Basra.
    "Basra is a promising region to attract Arab and foreign investments to its strategic location linking the east and west of the world and diversifying its abundant resources," he said during his participation in the Basra oil, gas and environment conference in Istanbul.
    He added that investment in Basra will help develop infrastructure, absorb the requirements of developing trade and industry, expand ports and operate the productive and competitive sectors of local companies, thus raising the levels of employment in some economic sectors and addressing the phenomenon and the problem of unemployment by providing new job opportunities provided by investment projects.
    He noted that " the application of Basra , the law of economic capital of Iraq , will solve many of the problems faced by the province of Basra and strengthens its role to take the industrial and commercial status and create a stable environment for investment and pushing the wheel of economic activity to an advanced stage match with Iraq 's economic status.
