TV: The Council of Ministers decides to exempt Abdul Basit Turki management of the Central Bank

According
to Iraqi media, on Wednesday, that the Iraqi Council of Ministers has
decided to exempt the central bank governor Abdul Basit Turki from
office in the bank, according to the decision of the ad hoc committee
formed by the Council of Ministers to consider the legality of taking a
Turkish governor of the central bank as well as assuming the position of
Chairman of Supreme Audit, in While denied the Information Office of
the Governor of the Central Bank of the news and said it was untrue.
The
channel said Eastern space Newsflash aired this evening that "the Iraqi
cabinet decided to exempt Abdul Basit Turki from office as Governor of
the Central Bank of Iraq," and explained that "the Cabinet decision came
against the backdrop recommendations issued an advisory committee
competent confirmed inadmissibility that The President of Supreme Audit
Finance Abdul Basit Turki executive position is the position of Governor
of the Central Bank. "
It was not possible for (long-Presse) to
make sure the news from authoritative source in the cabinet, not even
from its CSS weeks ago because of exposure to piracy, but the channel
confirmed that the Commission's decision to exempt Turkish from his post
at the central bank "was decided yesterday," pointing out that "
Committee also recommended referral Turkish to retire from his post as
head of the BSA after reaching the legal age. "
For his part,
denied the Information Office of the Governor of the Central Bank of
Iraq news that talked about exempting Abdul Basit Turki of the Bank's
management.
The Director of Information Central Bank Governor
Emad Ismail said in an interview to the (long-Presse), that "the news
that talked about the decision to exempt Abdul Basit Turki of the Bank's
management by the Council of Ministers is untrue and inaccurate."
Ismail
added, "I contacted shortly before the Governor and he told me that he
was still carry out its activities in the bank's management until seven
o'clock in the evening and not the health of the exemption decision."
The
Iraqi Council of Ministers decided, in (16 October 2012), the prime BSA
Abdul Basit Turki functions of the central bank governor and agency
instead of the former Bank Governor Sinan Shabibi on charges of issues
of financial and administrative corruption.
And received the
issue of dismissal of Governor Central Bank of Iraq international
reactions mixed as called for U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Beecroft

his functions the current president of the Court of Audit on 10.13.2004,
and work as a lecturer at Baghdad University and the University of
Mustansiriya, was nominated to serve as a financial expert international
in the field of government budgets, and to work as a consultant to the
Minister of Finance Namibia within aid Arab Bank of Africa, a member of
Economists Association Iraqis.
