Iraqi center reveals the objectives of rapprochement between Baghdad and Doha
Iraq's political think tank unveiled on Wednesday the mutual goals of President Barham Saleh's visit to Qatar.
"The mutual objectives of Qatar's visit include increasing the balance between countries and the region's active actors to ensure that Iraq stands at a distance from everyone and to establish the Iraq-Qatar relationship," said Ihsan al-Shammari, head of the center, in an analysis on his own account in Facebook. New foundations and a page of the past. "
"It also includes the participation of Qatar in the reconstruction of Iraq, and access to Qatari gas to compensate for any shortage coming to the continuation of electric power, and the entry of companies and Qatari capital for the purpose of investment in Iraq."
Al-Shammari pointed out that "the national goals are to activate the relationship with Iraq at all levels to create a new partner and negotiate the gas pipeline that runs through the Gulf, Iraq, Turkey and Europe, and investment in the gas sector in the southern fields."
"The adoption by Iraq of a transit area for Turkish goods in the direction of Qatar (Ibrahim al-Khalil _ Umm Qasr port - Hamad port) and the provision of grants and assistance in the sectors of health, education and other humanitarian sectors."
