    Shafaq News / Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi met on Wednesday accompanied by a parliamentary delegation of the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani. 
    During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, activating parliamentary friendship committees, as well as expanding cooperation horizons in all fields. The meeting also discussed the most important challenges facing the region, and the need to coordinate positions in international forums in response to these challenges and in the interest of both peoples. 
    Al-Halbusi stressed that Iraq, after its victory over a preacher, still faces challenges related to reconstruction, the return of displaced people and the imposition of stability, and it is necessary to support friends in this field. Iraq fought a war on behalf of the whole world against an extremist organization and defeated the efforts of its sons and blood. For the support of friendly countries.
    He added that Iraq is keen to maintain the common relationship between the two countries, pointing out Iraq's firm position on the use of its territory to launch any attack or aggression on neighboring countries and countries of the region, noting that its territory can not be used as a platform for attacks, as well as the assertion of Iraq's rejection of sanctions imposed on peoples . 
    For his part, Larijani thanked Iraq's stance on the sanctions against Iran, stressing his country's support for Iraq in all fields, including continuing to provide electricity. 
    He added that Iraq is currently acting wisely, and proved that it has strong forces able to defeat terrorism, welcome the view of Iraq to maintain its sovereignty and considered a red line.
