Presidency of Parliament: The Nationality Law is rejected as drafted and will be returned to the government

The Presidency of the House of Representatives, on Tuesday, that the draft law on Iraqi nationality is "rejected" as it is currently, indicating that the political blocs will work to bring him back to the government.
"The Council believes that the draft amendments to the Iraqi Nationality Law No. 26 of 2006 are rejected as currently drafted," the spokesman of the council's president, Shaker Hamed, said in a statement received.
He added that "the political forces in the House of Representatives support the vote on the draft amendments in the coming days; for the purpose of returning to the government, and study again."
The Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence of the Ministry of Interior recently announced an exception to some legal provisions for the granting of Iraqi citizenship, while the House of Representatives ended last week the first reading of the draft amendment to the first law of nationality.Finished
