    The head of the former parliamentary security and defense committee, Adnan al-Asadi, said Wednesday that the committee's chairmanship has not yet been decided, referring to its current chairman Mohammad Reza al-Haider and his rival, head of the Sadikoun parliamentary bloc, Adnan Fihan.
    "We would like to point out that the subject of the chairmanship of the Security and Defense Committee has not been decided yet," al-Asadi said in a tweet on his social networking site Twitter.
    He added that "MP Mohammad Reza Haidar and MP Adnan Vihan did not get either of them half + one of the 13 out of 23 members of the Committee," asserting that "there is a round or other rounds until the decision between them according to the law."
