Iraq plans to double its import of Iranian gas

Iraq will double its import of Iranian gas at the beginning of next month to raise the production capacity to more than 2,800 megawatts, the Ministry of Electricity announced.
"Iraq is currently relying on the operation of 2,800 megawatts of Iranian gas, via the Diwali and Basra ports, through the import of 28 million cubic meters per day," ministry spokesman Musab al-Mudar said in a statement.
"This import is not affected by US sanctions, because Iraq is committed to it and deals with Iran with the Iraqi dinar, not the dollar, and all remittances are made through the Iraqi Central Bank," he said, adding that "Iraq will double its imports to 38 million cubic meters." Transparently ".
