Informed government sources, on Wednesday, the continuation of Russia's contacts with the Iraqi government to release the citizens of the fabled in Iraq, pledging to complete their sentence in Moscow.
The sources said that "Moscow is continuing its contacts with the Iraqi government to ensure the release of its nationals who were arrested in Mosul after a defeat is urging," asserting that "the Russian ambassador in Baghdad pledged to the Iraqi government to complete their sentences in their country."
Earlier in the day, well-informed sources revealed intensive contacts between Paris and Baghdad on the suspension of the execution of six French nationals who were sentenced by the Iraqi court to death on charges of belonging to "Dahesh".
A court in Baghdad on Tuesday sentenced two French nationals to death after being convicted of belonging to a da'wah, raising the number to six French nationals.
The French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian said yesterday that his country is stepping up its efforts to spare 4 Frenchmen the death penalty in Iraq.
