The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply of Jordan confirmed the Kingdom's keenness to develop economic and commercial cooperation with Iraq.
The ministry said in a statement on its official account on the Facebook site, the work of the two countries to implement agreements have been recently to promote bilateral relations.
The Jordanian government has taken measures on the origin of Jordanian goods exported to the Iraqi market, accounting for less than 1.6 percent of Iraq's total imports in 2017.
The Jordanian and Iraqi sides reached important understandings and projects to strengthen bilateral cooperation, some of them in the economic fields, by exempting the Jordanian customs duties from customs duties after negotiations to determine the list of customs duties that cause damage to local industry and agriculture or affect the need of the Iraqi market.
Despite the decision to exempt and grant exports to Iraq via the port of Aqaba, a 75% discount on the handling fees, the volume of Iraqi imports through that road did not witness an impressive increase.
