    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - 
    Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Hamad Al-Sabah expressed his country's hope that the remains of humanity found in southern Iraq will be returned to Kuwaiti citizens. 
    "Kuwait has not and will spare no effort to support the efforts made in the hope of knowing the fate of missing Kuwaiti nationals and other nationals of third countries," he said. 
    During his meeting with representatives of the UN Security Council, Sheikh Sabah expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), through its chairmanship of the Tripartite Commission and its Technical Committee, to fulfill their responsibilities to close this humanitarian issue as required. 
    He welcomed "the steps taken by the Commission which he said contributed to the creation of a number of remains, as stated in the Joint Statement of the Tripartite Commission last week."
    "We hope that the remains of humanity found in southern Iraq will be returned to Kuwaiti citizens, and we look forward to further such positive news and developments to achieve tangible progress on the ground to end the suffering of the missing people that have lasted more than 28 years."
