BAGHDAD: The first deputy speaker of the Council of Representatives, Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, on Monday, the commander of the armed forces Adel Abdul Mahdi to implement and tighten the procedures followed in the freeing of cities from weapons.
In a statement, Al-Kaabi received a copy of the Euphrates News "to expedite the launching of large-scale search campaigns within the cities to ensure the implementation of the relevant resolutions and the confiscation of stores of heavy weapons, medium and ammunition that are outside the scope of the government, as well as accountability for those who tamper with the security of the citizen."
He pointed out that "the presence of weapons depots near densely populated cities has become a constant concern for the citizen and affect the safety of civilians and claim their lives, which we saw today during the explosion of ammunition in the Falcon camp in Dora where many houses and civilians and security forces were harmed."
Al-Kaabi stressed "the need to tighten the penalties related to the establishment of warehouses or the possession of illegal weapons and illegal."
