The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs indicated a great demand by workers and employers to register with the Social Security Law, while it recorded a decrease in forced layoffs of national workers in investment and economic projects. The Ministry's media advisor, Kazem Al-Atwani, told Al-Sabah: The past two months have witnessed a large demand by workers and employers to register with the new retirement and social security law, either electronically through the (UR) platform or through inspection committees that conduct field tours between various commercial activities and projects. and economic in Baghdad and the governorates. He added that despite the fraud of a large number of employers in determining the number of workers in their projects, the Ministry is working to register the largest number of them with this law, indicating that social security has now included workers in the unorganized sector, as well as what is also called optional security for every individual who works. Since the adoption of the Retirement and Social Security Law, the issue of terminating a worker’s contract and dismissing him does not take place except after obtaining the approval of the Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Asadi, and the violator is subject to legal accountability.
He continued that the Ministry calls on all workers to cooperate with the inspection committees and register on the lists of insured workers in order to provide them with justice in accordance with the law.
