Today, Sunday, the Supreme Authority for Hajj and Umrah called on the Central Bank to direct banks to open their doors to pilgrims.
A statement from the authority received by Al-Iqtisad News stated, “The Central Bank of Iraq must direct the banks, especially the Iraqi Trade Bank, Al-Rafidain Bank, and Al-Rasheed Bank, to open their doors to pilgrims to exchange the dollar currency.”
[rtl]He added, "There are large numbers of citizens who are going to Hajj and need to buy the dollar currency at the official rate, to use it in the Holy Land, but Iraqi banks refuse to receive them."[/rtl]
[rtl]The authority called on the Central Bank to circulate a directive to all banks involved in the sale of the dollar currency, to receive the guests of God, since the exchange companies did not accommodate pilgrims wishing to buy the dollar at the official price.[/rtl]
