The Human Rights Commission confirms the death of 460 protesters and the injury of 20 thousand others
The High Commissioner for Human Rights in Iraq announced that the total number of victims of the protests in the country reached 460, and 20 thousand injured.
A member of the commission, Ali Al-Bayati, said, "The total number of victims in the protest demonstrations that Iraq has witnessed since its launch last October, and until today has reached 460 dead and more than 20 thousand injured."
He added, "The number of detainees reached 2,650 detainees, most of whom were released, but close to 160 others are still in detention."
Al-Bayati stressed that the Commission has complaints about missing and abducted persons, up to 23 people, all of whom were referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
He continued, "Two paramedics were killed, while the number of paramedics was 15 injured."
