    [size=45]On Thursday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced a government decision that included withholding the ration card items for specific groups, starting from the first of June.[/size]
    [size=45]According to a statement by the Cabinet Secretariat, “The Council approved a set of reform measures to regulate the provision of ration items to citizens. The Ministry of Trade in the names of its employees who receive a total salary of one million five hundred thousand dinars or more, within (30) days of the date of issuance of this decision.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement indicated, “The Ministry of Commerce has identified a group of categories that will be covered by the decision to withhold, represented by unmarried family members whose total monthly income exceeds 1.5 million dinars, contractors classified up to the sixth degree, and company owners registered in the Companies Registration Department (whether they are managers or Shareholders), registered in the trade union federations up to the second degree, industries up to the third class, and the businessmen union, as well as the medical association, dentists, and pharmacists union, and individuals who have a tax charge of more than 18 million dinars annually.[/size]
    [size=45]He added that the decision also included "travelers outside Iraq for a period of more than 3 months (they are temporarily withheld until proving their return), residing outside the country, and Iraqis who hold the nationality of the host country."
    The secretariat’s statement pointed out that “the blocking also included inmates in central prisons (until their release), those who died inside prisons, belonging to terrorist organizations, escapees from justice, Arabs, foreigners and refugees except for Palestinian families.”[/size]
