Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi vowed today, Tuesday, to manipulate the prices of locally produced foodstuffs.
Noting that it is unacceptable to rise materials under false pretenses.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the “National News Center” that “Al-Kazemi, during the cabinet session today, confirmed that the high prices of some foodstuffs that are manufactured and produced locally, are an attempt by the weak souls and some greedy merchants to confuse the social situation and exploit the demand of citizens for Foodstuffs as a result of the approaching month of Ramadan, as it happens annually, ”
Noting that "he directed the Ministry of Interior and Economic Security to take appropriate measures to prevent tampering with the citizens' food, stop the greed of some merchants, and follow the markets."
He added that Al-Kazemi “directed to provide all support to the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade to work with the utmost efforts to provide flour,” noting that “it is unacceptable that the price of flour rises under false pretenses, and those who remain behind will be followed up.”
According to the statement, Al-Kazemi said, "We have identified gangs that exploit the most heinous humanitarian issues through begging, and we have directed the Ministry of Interior to follow up the issue, address it, prosecute these gangs and present them before the law."
Pointing out that "taxis are the ones who possess the license to carry out their work, and the General Traffic Directorate must do its part to prevent cars that are not licensed to operate."
Al-Kazemi stressed that “there is a wide diplomatic movement in Iraq. We have the Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian summit that will be held in Baghdad, and there are continuous important visits to the country. Provided that Iraq has an important role in the pacification in the region.
