Today, Wednesday, Al-Fateh Alliance MP Hamid Al-Mousawi revealed the most prominent points of contention that were settled and agreed upon in the draft federal budget law.
Al-Mousawi said in a press conference held in Parliament, that “the leadership of the Al-Fateh Alliance met yesterday and through the meeting a full presentation of foreign loans was made in the draft budget law, where approximately 40% of these loans were allocated to important sectors and to investment projects for electricity and important infrastructure projects for the provinces. Noting that "foreign loans were reduced, in agreement with the Finance Committee, from 7.5 billion to 3.2 billion dollars."
Al-Moussawi added, "The rights of those whose contracts were rescinded were guaranteed in the popular crowd, in compliance with the decision of the House of Representatives in 2019, in which the return of those whose contracts had been canceled voted in the crowd worse in the interior and defense."
He continued, “With regard to the sovereign guarantee, the committee formed from various committees with the Supervision Bureau and the Integrity Commission has detected major violations of this guarantee, so providing any guarantees for energy projects is a new violation, and that is why we went to adopt a payment guarantee for energy projects if the product reached the Ministry of Electricity, and it was agreed. On this paragraph, ”pointing out that“ it was agreed on equitable social care by adding 75 thousand dinars to each family and increasing farmers ’dues by adding 50 thousand dinars for every ton of wheat and barley.”
He stressed, "the insistence of members of the House of Representatives to pass the budget, and there are controversial issues in the 2021 budget, leaving the Iraqi parliament and the options of the representatives to vote and not vote on the disputed paragraphs."
