[rtl]Basra / NINA / The Minister of Transport, Captain Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, today, Saturday, after arriving in Basra Governorate and opening the new road (the entrance to the ports), a field tour to review the progress of work and follow up on the developments of the stages of project completion and the construction of the five giant berths in the northern and southern ports of Umm Qasr.
Al-Shibli met with companies implementing projects in the ports of Basra, including the French company CMA and the Lorraine Company, to discuss the contracts concluded with them regarding the implementation and completion of projects, according to international standards and modern technologies, and within the agreed time periods.
"The importance of intensifying efforts and exerting more vigorous efforts in completing these important projects that serve the Iraqi economy and are considered the lifeblood of the ports and an important artery that supplies the country's economy with financial revenues," the Minister of Transport stressed.
The tour, in which he was accompanied by Engineer Talib Baish, the technical agent and a number of general directors, included the Umm Qasr water desalination project, which is an important project that supports the infrastructure implemented by the ministry.
