Al-Halbousi is discussing with UN officials enacting laws to hold ISIS accountable for its crimes

{Politics: Al Furat News} Speaker of Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi received the representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Iraq, Jenin Blashart, in the presence of the Special Adviser and Head of the United Nations Investigation Team in relation to the crimes committed by the terrorist ISIS (UNITAD) Karim Khan.

A statement by Al-Halbousi's office, of which the Al-Furat News Agency received a copy, stated that "the meeting discussed developments in the work of the investigation team into ISIS crimes, and supported the Iraqi parliament to enact laws necessary to hold ISIS accountable for mass crimes and crimes against humanity."
For his part, Khan praised the House of Representatives' efforts to redress victims and achieve justice through legislation, the latest of which is the Women Survivors Law.
